The first time you open Liminal Network’s gateway, swaps, claim codes, and red packets appear together. They are not three random features. They are three ways to deliver value on the same privacy pool.
Gateway: liminalnetwork.xyz. Catbox: st.liminalnetwork.xyz.
Connect a wallet
Use the connect button. Docs mention MetaMask, WalletConnect, or Coinbase Wallet. After you sign, you are in. The intended UX is “privacy from the first screen,” not a maze of optional shields.
Path 1: Exchange
Use this when the other side should receive funds now. Pick the asset you send, the asset they receive, amount, and destination. Confirm, and the value arrives without a simple on-chain edge between your address and theirs.
Documents cite a 2% service fee as an example. Trust the live UI. You are consuming pool liquidity in exchange for an unlinkable delivery.
Path 2: claim codes
Use this when you want a delay. You deposit, the system mints an encrypted code, you send the code. The recipient claims it. The two addresses still should not look like a normal payment pair.
Typical controls:
- Open code: anyone with the string can claim
- Address-bound code: only the named address can claim, even if the string leaks
- Expiry: unclaimed value returns so it does not hang forever
Exchange is immediate. Codes add timing and conditions.
Path 3: Catbox
Catbox turns private distribution into a passphrase. The creator deposits and sets a phrase; claimants type it to receive a share. Amounts can be random or fixed. Leftover boxes return after expiry.
It fits community drops and in-person phrases. You are not performing a public address. Docs mention a small LIM network fee when a box is opened; again, the product page wins.
Portal is not the pool
Portal is the transaction layer: swaps, codes, Catbox.
Pool is the liquidity layer: deposits that deepen mixing.
Try a small code or Catbox first so you know how the other person claims. Only then decide whether to supply liquidity. Lockup lengths and any displayed rewards are live product rules. Public FAQ copy uses a 50 USDT minimum for the current pool; older PDFs may still show a higher number. This guide does not treat sample yields as guarantees.
Three places in the account area
- My codes / my Catbox: status, recall, expiry
- Address book: repeat payees without re-pasting
- History: you can still audit your own side without publishing it
Practical habits
- Rehearse the loop with an amount you can afford to mistype.
- Prefer address-bound codes for a known payee.
- Do not post Catbox phrases under an account that is already tied to your real name.
