Public blockchains make transfers verifiable. They also make addresses, balances, and counterparties easy to mine for years. Liminal Network, also called 无介 in Chinese, splits those two facts: a transaction can still be proven valid without putting “who paid whom, and how much” on a public explorer by default.
The project describes itself as a privacy liquidity layer for Web3, not a one-off “hide my address” toggle.
What the names mean
“无介” stresses that value should move without a centralized middleman. “Liminal” is the threshold between a fully transparent ledger and a transaction you can keep out of casual view.
Use the Chinese name 无介. Liminal Network and 无介 refer to the same project.
The gap after “just mix once”
The public FAQ and business plan repeat three pressures:
- Transparent chains turn history into a cheap profiling dataset.
- Monero-class privacy coins proved demand for anonymous transfers, but did not answer how privacy becomes a network other apps can plug into.
- Most users will not assemble cryptography by hand. They need a gateway.
Liminal’s answer is a two-sided pool. People who need private delivery use the gateway. People who supply liquidity deepen the anonymity set. Both sides sit on the same pool.
Two products you can open today
Liminal Portal is the gateway. After connecting a wallet you can do private swaps, create claim codes, and send Catbox passphrase envelopes. Privacy is the default once you are inside, not an advanced setting.
Liminal Pool is the liquidity layer. Deposits mix with other funds. Outsiders typically see pool-level size changes rather than a personal trail. Larger pools mean deeper mix and a harder graph to deanonymize.
Portal is for people who consume privacy. The pool is for people who supply it.
Four fields, not one trick
Public materials list a closed loop:
- Ring signatures hide the sender among decoys
- Stealth addresses give the receiver a one-time destination
- RingCT plus zero-knowledge proofs hide amounts while proving the math
- Dandelion++ forwards through a private path before broadcast, which raises the cost of IP inference
See the cryptography explainer for the same four questions in more detail.
How this is not “another yield page”
Liminal uses a two-asset story: USDT as the stable unit for the pool, LIM as the network’s own token (1 billion supply, no inflation, per the documents). That is context, not a return promise.
Treat APY tables, VIP ladders, and lockup calendars as product-page rules that can change. This article does not reprint sample rates as guarantees. Historical node-sale modules are closed; use the live site and official chats for current entry points.
Where to start
- Open the privacy gateway and complete one small Portal transfer or claim code.
- For passphrase red packets, use Catbox.
